The SAFE Method was created by Bethany Corbin, author and femtech advocate, to provide consumers with a transparent way to evaluate women's health technology products.
Security & Privacy (S)
How well does the product protect your personal health data?

Foundation (F)

- • Track record of product updates and customer support
Equity (E)
Does the product work for all bodies and identities?

How We Calculate Scores
Each product receives a SAFE Score from 0 to 100, calculated by evaluating all four dimensions. Each dimension is scored from 0-25 points:
Total SAFE Score Interpretation:
- 80-100 (Excellent): SAFE Recommended - Strong performance across all dimensions
- 60-79 (Good): Use with awareness - Shows promise with some areas for improvement
- 0-59 (Poor): Significant concerns - Users should carefully review before use
Our Review Process
We conduct thorough evaluations using publicly available information including:
- Privacy policies and terms of service
- Published research studies and clinical trials
- Regulatory filings and approvals (FDA, CE, etc.)
- Company websites and marketing materials
- Third-party security assessments and certifications
100% Independent: Femiliar maintains complete independence from product manufacturers. We do not accept payment for reviews, and products cannot buy better scores. Our evaluations are based solely on the evidence and our standardized methodology.
